Down Under it seems there are more craft distilleries per capita than anywhere else outside of the British Isles, with a slew (or should we say, sloe) of Gin producers using our country’s unique flora to create incredible spirits. Sure, they may branch out into making Whiskey, Rum, or some kind of hemp-based hipster spirit, but Australia’s craft distillery scene still rests on a basis of Gin, and probably always will.
With that in mind, and more Australian distilleries now operating than we could possibly list here, we thought we’d, ahem, distill down a list of our all-time favourite Aussie gin makers, so next time you hit the bottle shop, you can do so knowing you’re buying something local and something excellent.
